We were on this train. There was a problem with the brake reservoir on 34067 Tangmere. Diesel 66167 was added at Exeter to supply brake pressure, with Diesel 67003 used for the return trip.

33002 undertook it’s first test runs after 4 years of restoration at the South Devon Railway on Sunday 26th April 2009. The crompton passes along the banks of the River Dart at Hood Bridge hauling class 25 No.D7612.

| Whilst standing at platform 7 at Cardiff Central waiting for the 17:36 Arriva Trains Wales service to Radyr, 170109 arrived at platform 3 (at 17:31) with the 14:08 CrossCountry service from Nottingham. It had been given the all-clear to leave and a little man was running alongside the train rushing to get a picture. He couldn't keep up with it and it sped out of Cardiff Central like a rocket. It was quite funny. Instead he took a picture of Arriva Trains Wales Class 150 unit 150217 which arrived on platform 4 with the 17:38 stopping service to Swansea. This train originated as the 16:40 service from Ebbw Vale Parkway. It is unsual for trains coming from Ebbw Vale Parkway to continue beyond Cardiff Central, there are only two exceptions. One is above, as mentioned, the other is the 06:46 service from Maesteg to Ebbw Vale Parkway (due 08:31) and for the record it leaves Cardiff Central at 07:39. Wow, long message!! |
